1. Anti-oxidize me.
Anti-oxidants help you fight against toxins and poisons in your body. Fruits such as blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, apples, plums and tomatoes are all rich in anti-oxidants. Beans, peas and whole grains are also anti-oxidants too. And the greatest news of all: dark chocolate. Contrary to popular belief, dark chocolate (in moderation) will actually do good to your skin and not cause breakouts.
2. Zinc is for zits.
Research has it that zinc found in many foods – such as legumes, seeds, nuts and whole-grains – is the best acne-beater nature has to offer. You can also opt to take zinc supplements. But you have to make sure you take no more than 50mg a day.
3. Vitamin A
Yes, we learned it all in grade school. Vitamin A gives us strong and healthy hair, nails and skin. Among the foods rich in vitamin A are: oatmeal, dark green vegetables (like broccoli) and deep yellow fruits.
